Key Experience:
Dr Sarah Armitage has 18 years’ experience working in NHS psychology roles, including within Early Intervention Services and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), supporting adults, young people and families navigating a wide range of challenges and mental health difficulties.
Sarah gained her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Oxford in 2015 and has since trained further in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy and Schema Therapy.
Sarah can support children, young people and families to manage a range of issues including anxiety, mood disorders, PTSD, emotion regulation difficulties and symptoms of psychosis. She works with young people exploring confidence and identity, and supports children who are finding it hard to attend school.
She has particular experience with neurodivergent children and young people, including autism and ADHD, and with those facing complex mental health difficulties, including psychosis.
Sarah's Special Interests:
Sarah is keen to understand how she can be most useful to your family during this stressful time.
Her approach is strengths-based, working collaboratively with children, young people and families on the goals that matter to them. These goals might be building confidence and improving wellbeing, developing ways of managing stress, and/or reducing emotional and behavioural difficulties that feel hard to cope with.
Sarah has a special interest in working with neurodivergent children and their families.
