You should take some time to look through the recommendations and decide what to put in place. It may be helpful for you to arrange a meeting with the school to discuss which recommendations will help your child at school.

Join our autism course.

For autism we have an excellent and highly recommended online course for parents of recently diagnosed children called Embracing Autism. The course covers all the key areas of autism and helps improve your knowledge of autism as it relates to your child’s individual difficulties and strengths. The course runs around four times per year.

Consider 1:1 therapy.

We offer therapy and support at our clinic in West Wycombe. There may be a waiting list for this so please ask the team to add you if you are interested. The team will start by working with you on the recommendations from the assessment report

1-1 Parent Support Sessions.

For ADHD, NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) recommends follow-up parent sessions focused on education and information as well as advice on parenting strategies.
