Dr Samantha Tomlinson - Clinical Psychologist

Doctorate in Clinical Psychology / Chartered Psychologist (D.Clin.Psy., C.Psychol)

Key Experience:

  • Samantha has worked in the NHS since 2008 with children and adults with developmental conditions (such as autism) and a range of mental health difficulties.

  • Since qualifying, Samantha has worked within NHS learning disability services with people with a range of developmental and mental health difficulties.

Dr Samantha Tomlinson’s Special Interests:

  • Working psychologically with children and young people with autism and/or learning disabilities.

  • Undertaking cognitive (psychometric) assessments, ensuring results are helpful for the individual and their wider systems and supporting people following diagnosis.

  • Samantha draws on her knowledge and experience of a range of psychological models and therapies including; cognitive behaviour therapy, systemic therapy, narrative therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, emotionally focused therapy, compassion focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and positive behaviour support.

  • Samantha is passionate about adapting these models for people with autism and/or learning disabilities and working creatively to ensure interventions are person-centred and effective.
