Doctorate in Clinical Psychology / Chartered Psychologist (D.Clin.Psy., C.Psychol)
Key Experience:
Samantha has worked in the NHS since 2008 with children and adults with developmental conditions (such as autism) and a range of mental health difficulties.
Since qualifying, Samantha has worked within NHS learning disability services with people with a range of developmental and mental health difficulties.
Dr Samantha Tomlinson’s Special Interests:
Working psychologically with children and young people with autism and/or learning disabilities.
Undertaking cognitive (psychometric) assessments, ensuring results are helpful for the individual and their wider systems and supporting people following diagnosis.
Samantha draws on her knowledge and experience of a range of psychological models and therapies including; cognitive behaviour therapy, systemic therapy, narrative therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, emotionally focused therapy, compassion focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and positive behaviour support.
Samantha is passionate about adapting these models for people with autism and/or learning disabilities and working creatively to ensure interventions are person-centred and effective.
