Key Experience:

  • Jo came to educational psychology after over a decade working directly with children and young people, both in mainstream school settings and as a senior leader in alternative provision settings.

  • Jo is also a qualified coach and uses these skills to support head teachers and senior leaders in her local authority roles.

  • Jo trained at the University College London’s Institute of Education and has a breadth of experience working in multi-disciplinary teams providing psychological advice and delivering evidence-based interventions to support children and young people.

  • Jo’s doctoral research focused on emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA) across the primary to secondary school transition.

Special Interests:

  • Jo is passionate about working in close collaboration with parents, carers and school staff to help children and young people develop the skills they need to thrive, both academically and personally.

  • Jo understands that empowering adults to create the right conditions for children and young people to flourish is paramount.

  • Jo enjoys working with parents, carers and school staff to deliver training and workshops across a range of topics including school readiness, resilience and emotional regulation.
