Dr Hannah Hook - Clinical Psychologist

Doctorate in Clinical Psychology / Chartered Psychologist [D.Clin.Psy., C.Psychol].

Key Experience:

  • Over 10 years experience working in the NHS with children, young people and their families/carers in a variety of settings including within schools, social care teams, community CAMHS, inpatient and forensic settings.

  • Experience of working with young people with a range of difficulties, including low mood and self-esteem, anxiety, anger and behavioural difficulties and experiences of trauma.

  • Previously worked in a specialist service for looked after children, offering therapy and support for young people, their carers and systems, to help make sense of a child’s developmental and attachment experiences and difficulties.

  • Currently working in an NHS CAMHS team providing crisis and outreach support for young people experiencing a range of complex mental health and social difficulties.

  • Experience of working with large professional systems, and providing consultation and supervision to other mental health professionals.

Dr Hannah Hook’s Special Interests:

  • Working collaboratively with young people who feel disempowered, to develop stronger identities, resources and aspirations.

  • Supporting children and adolescents with a history of developmental trauma, and their parents or carers, within an attachment-focused model (mentalisation-based approaches and dyadic developmental practice/ PACE)

  • Supporting children with ASD and their families

  • Behavioural, anger and anxiety difficulties in children
