Doctorate in Clinical Psychology / Chartered Psychologist [D.Clin.Psy., C.Psychol]

Key Experiences:

Extensive experience of working within NHS psychological services; 12 years experience of working within NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) supporting young people living with moderate to severe mental health difficulties.

Experience of working with young people with a wide range of presenting problems including depression, anxiety disorders , Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), low self esteem, perfectionism, adjustment disorders and difficulty regulating emotions.

Experience of working therapeutically with neurodivergent children, young people, and their families, including autism and ADHD.

Dr Emily Foster’s Special Interests:

Emily has a gentle approach and is passionate about offering a calm and safe space to the young people and families she works with. She values taking time to build a strong therapeutic relationship, working with the young person and their family to develop a shared, holistic understanding of the challenges they are facing.

She draws on a range of psychological models and therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy and systemic and narrative approaches.

Emily enjoys providing clinical supervision to psychologists and mental health practitioners.
